Interfaith Social Justice Awards

JRLC confers two Interfaith Social Justice Awards at its Day on the Hill legislative conference and lobby day. The Lawrence D. Gibson Interfaith Social Justice Award is given to an individual. The Interfaith Social Justice Community Award is given to a congregation or organization. Both awards recognize social justice work done in an interfaith context that moves members of a community to effective public action. Criteria in making awards include:
  • Work included public policy change
  • People affected by the problem help define the problem and the policy change
  • Resources of the faith community were mobilized
  • Citizens were mobilized

Nominations for the 2010 awards opened December 15, 2009 and close February 15, 2010. To nominate an individual or organization please download the nomination form and return the completed form to JRLC. Yes, you can nominate yourself or your congregation/organization!
